Surprises have kept coming since moving into Hoboken in 2023 and learning lots about each other in this new stage – Paul is exceptional at cooking, cleaning, scheduling, and just about any other domestic task imaginable. Cristina contributes to things that are equally as important, like their plant and book collections, inventory of Trader Joe’s snacks, and reputation for being fashionably late. They’ve brought out the best in each other as roomies. Cristina now sees some value in timers and measuring ingredients, while Paul occasionally embraces the act of winging it. Cristina has become more accepting of suburbia, while Paul has learned to tolerate and travel around the city. They’ve found ways to balance their individual passions, like Paul’s Thursday golf league becoming Cristina’s stand-in dinner dates with friends or a chance to try a new hobby. They’ve also learned new skills together, like the art of having full conversations only using quotes they have memorized from their nieces and nephews. Through this and every new chapter, however, many of the things they initially loved together have stayed the same, like trying new restaurants and wines, falling asleep on the couch, laughing until they cry, going to shows or concerts, and spending every possible moment with family and friends.

Tenuta di Artimino is a wine estate that spans nearly two thousand acres of Tuscany in the city of Carmignano, about 30 minutes west of Florence. One of the reasons we fell in love with Artimino is that it feels like its own little world, with an historic villa and hotel, incredible restaurants and wine experiences, and its own bustling village all nestled among vineyards and olive groves. Between wedding events, we hope you’ll take some time to enjoy the estate, wander through the village, relax at the pool or spa, reserve a wine or pasta making experience, and soak in the views of the rolling hills.

All of our wedding events will take place on the property of Tenuta di Artimino.
All the planning and scheduling will be taken care of throughout the wedding days, allowing us to spend meaningful time together. So once you arrive at Artimino, you can settle in to enjoy a few days of stress-free fun and relaxation!

Artimino has two options for accommodations on the property: 1) the hotel by the villa, or 2) the apartment complex in the village. The hotel and the apartment complex are less than a half-mile down the road from each other, reachable by a ten-minute walk or a two-minute shuttle that is running constantly.

We have a room block with special pricing and breakfast included for both the hotel and apartments through the link below.

All wedding events will take place near the hotel. But since the village is so close, we'd encourage thinking about which accommodation is most suitable for your personal arrangements and needs, rather than the events themselves.

We’d love for as many guests as possible to stay at Artimino, where all wedding events will be held, so you don’t have to think about any planning or logistics!
However, we completely understand if these accommodations are too restrictive. You are more than welcome to explore off-site options, and we are happy to help you plan these to ensure you have an enjoyable trip.

Option 1: Hotel

The hotel is central to all wedding events throughout the three days, with a one-minute walk to any location.

All hotel rooms are single-room studio units that vary in size from small (Style Room), medium (Singular Room), and large (Extra Singular Room). All hotel rooms on the booking link are indicated by “Room.”

A cot can be added to any room for an additional nightly fee (50 euros), though it may feel a bit snug in the Style Room.

Option 2: Apartments/Borgo

The apartments are located in the Artimino village, which is still on the property just 0.4 mile from the wedding events. The apartment complex has its own private entrance, pool, and spa. The small village is made up of multiple restaurants, a gelato shop, a museum, and the local residents who proudly operate these establishments and very much enjoy visitors to the property!

The apartments come in a wider variety of layouts, including larger and multi-bedroom options, and have living room and kitchen areas. All apartments on the booking link are indicated by “Borgo.”

Shuttles are provided from the apartments to the venue on the Wedding Day, and are also available within minutes upon request at any other time throughout your stay.

A cot can be added to any borgo room for an additional nightly fee (50 euros).

Breakfast is served at a restaurant across from the hotel, called Biagio Pignatta, even if you are staying at the apartments.

Booking Information

Our room block and preferred rates are available through February 28, 2027. We encourage guests to book as early as possible to ensure availability.

The room block is defaulted to Tuesday, June 1 (the day of the welcome party) to Friday, June 4 (the day after the pool party).

Adjustments to your accommodations are easily doable! You can extend or shorten your stay, or request another type of room at Artimino that is not listed on our booking link below. To make adjustments while maintaining the special rates, email your plans to the Artimino team (wedding.mc.artimino@melia.com) and they are happy to assist. There is another wedding at Artimino the weekend before ours, so if you're planning to arrive before June 1, we recommend booking sooner than later.

You're welcome to use our room block (below), book directly through Artimino, or use a third-party website -- choose whichever method gives you the best perks and prices. Please note that rooms are nonrefundable when booking through our wedding link. This is pretty common for winery resorts abroad, but you may be able to find refundable options through other booking avenues. We recommend creating a free Meliá account before booking, so you can earn points toward your stay.

Car Service Information

It is highly encouraged to schedule a car service rather than driving on your own (unless you are secretly experienced in driving around the rural streets and hills of Italy). And, you won't need a car during the wedding events, so renting a car is really not necessary.

We have an agreement with a car service company called "All Around Italy" to offer special rates for private transfers for the two possible driving routes in the above options (Rome to Artimino and Florence to Artimino). These private transfers are with reliable drivers, in Mercedes vans, and can accommodate 5-8 guests at a time, depending on luggage.

From Florence train station (SMN) to Artimino = €160 cash (€180 via credit card)

From Rome airport (FCO) to Artimino = €600 cash (€700 via credit card)

other driving options

TAXI
A taxi from the Florence train station to Artimino is estimated to cost around €100, but it is up to the discretion of the driver. The taxi area is right outside the train station, and it is quite structured – hop on the line, and tell the taxi coordinator the number of guests and that your destination is Tenuta di Artimino. If you require certain accommodations (i.e., car seat), be sure to state this when requesting a taxi with the taxi coordinator.

RENTAL CAR
Although we don't recommend driving around, rental car is always an option. Rental car companies that we have used or have been recommended by our wedding planner include: Sicilybycar, Hertz, and fivestars (NCC services). Be sure to book these in advance. If you require certain accommodations (i.e., car seat), be sure to request the availability and cost during booking.

Step 1: Flight from Newark (EWR) to Rome (FCO)

This flight is about 8 hours. We chose to fly overnight to arrive at Artimino the next morning and have most of the day to enjoy. If this is your jam too, bring melatonin, headphones, and a neck pillow!

Step 2: Short Train or Taxi from Rome Airport (FCO) to Rome Train Station (Roma Termini)

Yay you made it to Italy!! Ciao bella/bello!!

Rome Airport (where you just landed) is 20 miles away from the Rome Train Station (Roma Termini), where you will be getting your high-speed train to Florence in the next step. To get to Roma Termini, you can take a train or a taxi.

TAXI OPTION:
- The taxi ride takes about 45 minutes. It is quite convenient because you’d be able to get a taxi at any time you arrive at Rome Airport and not have to worry about catching a train at a certain time. However, it is the pricier option (probably around €120).
- When you get off your plane in Rome, follow signs for the street level and taxi area. The taxi operation is quite structured – hop on the line, and tell the taxi coordinator the number of guests and your destination is Roma Termini. Also note if you need a car seat.

TRAIN OPTION:
- The train is 30 minutes long, affordable, and comes frequently, but it may take a bit more energy depending on your number of suitcases.
- When you get off your plane in Rome, follow the yellow signs with “Train” and a black train symbol. You’ll arrive at a Trenitalia ticket booth (Biglietteria), where you can buy your shuttle ticket to Roma Termini for €14. Then, look up to the digital board above the Biglietteria line to see when the next shuttle is coming and the platform number.
- Once you have your ticket and know the platform number, walk through the turnstiles to check your ticket, then head to the train. The doors of the train close at the exact time of departure, so try to walk onto the platform a little early. If missed, don’t worry – the next train will usually come soon.
- To know you are on the right train: 1) the train itself should be red, white, and green; 2) it says TrenItalia and probably Leonardo Express; and 3) the destination is Roma Termini – most important!

Step 3: High-speed Train from Rome Train Station (Roma Termini) to Florence Train Station (Firenze SMN)

When you get to Roma Termini, you will take a 90-minute high-speed train to Florence. The views of the Tuscan countryside are beautifulllll.

All train platforms are in a row. If you took the 30-minute train (not taxi) in the previous step to get here, you will get off right next to the platforms for the high-speed train.

Look at the digital board to see your platform number. The platform numbers appear about 10 minutes before boarding. Pro tip: The yellow dot all the way to the right side of the digital boards means that particular train is boarding.

These trains are very prompt, so be sure to arrive on time. We recommend getting the flexible ticket where you are able to hop onto a different train if needed.

Think of this train as the Amtrak of Italy – it is better to book your ticket in advance to get a better price and seat options. We recommend getting your ticket directly through the official train website of TrenItalia instead of a third party, as they are more reliable and usually cheaper.

When booking this ticket, choose Roma Termini to Firenze S. M. Novella.

Step 4: Drive from Florence Train Station (Firenze SMN) to Artimino

Welcome to Florence! Your last step is a 30-minute drive to Artimino -- just enough time to get your party pants on!!!

There are a few options for this leg of the trip. We highly recommend private transfer or taxi, rather than renting and driving a car yourself. Check out Car Service Information on the bottom of the Travel tab.
